By Grace Are Ye Saved Through
Faith
I
am speaking as a Biblical Born-Again Evangelical
Christian.

It
cannot be more clear than this scripture found in Ephesians
chapter two, "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that
not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of
works, lest any man should boast" that a person can
only be saved by grace through faith. Yet
Catholicism teaches salvation is by grace through works and
faith. Another verse that debunks this Catholic Church teaching is
found in Titus chapter three, "Not by works of
righteousness which we have done, but according to his
mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of
the Holy Ghost."
The Catholic Church takes one section
of scripture and twists it to mean salvation by works and
faith, totally disregarding the above verses and many
others like them. The scripture the Catholic Church uses
is the scripture in James, where it is written, "faith without
works is dead." And Catholics that believe this way
just don't understand that the works spoken of in
James are works of God in a person who is already
saved.
The works spoken of in James are the works
of God in the believer, changing the believer and causing the
believer to be able to do works of righteousness. James is
speaking of proof of saving faith. James is saying
that if someone has no works of the Lord in him, his faith
is dead faith. James it not saying that man's works save
him.
