The Presidency

Why I Would Not Vote For A Catholic For The Presidency
I am speaking as a Biblical Born-Again Evangelical Christian

It is my belief that I can only vote for a born again believer in Christ when it comes to the highest political office in the land. Devout Catholicism (as per the Catechism on the Vatican website) says that those of us who know about the Catholic Church and reject the Catholic Church are not saved, hence not going to heaven. This is in stark contrast to the Gospel of Jesus Christ in the bible and tells me that anyone who follows such a belief is not a born again believer, as Jesus says a person must be born again to enter the kingdom of God. --John 3:7

Catechism: "Basing itself on Scripture and Tradition, the Council teaches that the Church, a pilgrim now on earth, is necessary for salvation: the one Christ is the mediator and the way of salvation; he is present to us in his body which is the Church. He himself explicitly asserted the necessity of faith and Baptism, and thereby affirmed at the same time the necessity of the Church which men enter through Baptism as through a door. Hence they could not be saved who, knowing that the Catholic Church was founded as necessary by God through Christ, would refuse either to enter it or to remain in it." I am a born again Christian believer in Christ. So I must conclude that a candidate, who follows a belief that says I am not saved, is possibly not a born again Christian believer in Christ himself.

Many people who call themselves Catholic have no idea what true Catholicism is all about. And many of these people are true born again believers. When voting for a lesser political office, I am willing to give a Catholic candidate the benefit of the doubt, that is unless he says something to let me know otherwise. But when it comes to the highest office in the land (equal to a king), I take a Catholic candidate at his word, that he is a true Catholic.
